January 2026
Hi friends!
It’s been a while since I have given an update, and a lot has happened. If you were with me from the start of this journey, you remember shopping in my personal storage unit with flashlights. I only sold furniture (for the most part), and I might have had one or two new items come into the shop a week. That was only a few months ago, but I feel like I have lived years since then.
I have recently moved into a retail space in NoDa, as I am sure can be told from the photos of the shop. I signed the lease on November 14th, and had my grand opening on December 1st. Regrettably, I am still waiting on the signage company to install my signs, but that has not slowed us down.
I am now an employer. I was incredibly swamped, so I hired someone to help manage the showroom. If you have been to the store recently, you have probably met Justina. She’s wonderful. Starting in February, I will be bringing in an in-house seamstress (we sell clothes now)! We are also aiming to be open from 10am-7pm every day of the week starting in February.
When I started this business, I kept hearing from other small business owners that January is the worst month for retail. If that’s true for us, then I can only imagine what the store is going to look like in the coming months, because January has been incredible for us. It seems that y’all really like our little store.
I am incredibly excited for what this year is going to bring as we move forward, and I hope to continue improving and bringing about positive changes to the space.
Come by sometime soon and check out our huge selection of furniture, vintage decor, clothes, jewelry, and whatever else our whims may bring into the shop.
A huge shoutout and thank you to the people who took a chance on me as came into the building as vendors:
Fos Restoration Company
That Boy Thrift
Bird Dog Vintage
Yellow Door Refinishing
The Bonus Room
Eat Me Eat Me
Nick Bagot
I couldn’t have done it without y’all.
Until next time,
Gabe
